Mashinka Firunts is a writer, curator, and artist residing in Philadelphia. She is currently collaborating on Parlor Lecture: A Curated Hebdomadal with Danny Snelson (forthcoming). She received an MA from Columbia in Modern Art and Curatorial Studies. Projects include a co-edited Critical Reader for Tan Lin’s Seven Controlled Vocabularies released through Edit Publications, dramaturgy for Prelude Festival 2010, and line producing PS122’s Wooster Group-curated installment of Avant-Garde-Arama. She is a current contributor to Culturebot and a former staff writer for the Columbia University Institute for Research on Women and Gender. She has presented performances and papers at the Ontological-Hysteric Theater, Performance Space 122, The Museum of Modern Art, Northwestern University, UCLA, and CUNY Graduate Center.
